This is my first time blogging, so here goes! First off, I'd like to introduce myself...the name is Margherita. It's more like the pizza, than the special drink. It's Italian!
The reason I started blogging was to document my road to a healthy life. I started Weight Watchers this past Monday and let me tell you it is different than what I was used to. Coming from a Sicilian family, it's always Mangia, Mangia, Mangia! Eat, Eat, Eat, they tell me.
I've never documented what I ate before. In diet land, this is called Tracking. We track everything from the morning breakfast to dinner and all activities. At first, I thought it was weird keeping track on what I ate, but it really shows you can't keep eating until you're full. Every food has a point value and you need to reach your daily points by the end of the day.
I am having difficulty with finding a low point value on my food decisions. I also started measuring everything I took in starting with my milk. Who does that?? I drink 2 cups of milk and it's 8 points. WTH?? Why so much?? I only drink it once a day. I drink the 2% reduced fat kind ya know to keep its flavor. I can't even drink my milk anymore..ugh! Don't even get me started on the pasta, breads and cheese. I'm Italian, it's like taking candy from a baby! This time it's the cheesy breadsticks and the mastaccioli! Hopefully I get used to this!
Another thing is, I am still hungry!!! My stomach is asking for food but I already hit my points for my day. I am filling up with lots of fruits though. My ma looked at my bowl of fruit and asked, "You're eating all that?" I told her yes, fruit is 0 points! I can eat how many I want.
We'll see how this week goes....well I already wrote a novel. Have a good night my peeps!
